Poor away record may swing relegation six-pointer

Sevilla and Almeria are separated by just goal difference in a tightly congested La Liga relegation battle with both teams struggling to get out of the battle for the drop.

The home side suffered a 6-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid last time out but before that had won three of their last six games to creep closer to safety. It is a shock to see a side normally associated with the battle for European football in a scrap to save their La Liga status however.

Almeria produced a shock win against Barcelona recently but that was an anomaly in their recent form, they have lost four of their last five matches and conceded 13 goals in the process.

The visitors’ away record does not make comfortable reading either, they have drawn three and lost eight of their 11 matches on the road in La Liga this season and that could be crucial in this one, take Sevilla to win.
