Sevilla 2-1

Reason for tip

Sevilla have won four of their last six home league games and all were by one-goal margins. A 2-1 win could be on the cards against a Celta Vigo side that has lost five of seven on the road and conceded multiple goals in six of those defeats.

Sevilla vs Celta Vigo Predictions

  • At least three goals have been scored in five of Celta Vigo’s last seven league matches
  • Sevilla’s last seven La Liga games have produced an average of three goals per game
  • Celta Vigo have lost five of their seven away La Liga contests this season

Sevilla look to build on recent improvement

Sevilla have shown signs of turning their season around of late and they edge an entertaining clash with Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Los Nervionenses took only five points from their first six league games under former Las Palmas coach Garcia Pimienta, but have won four and drawn two of their next 10 to move out of the relegation positions.

Sevilla led 3-1 against title-contending Atletico Madrid last weekend before an Antoine Griezmann-inspired comeback sealed a comeback for the hosts. However, there were plenty of positives from that performance to build on.

Celta Vigo bring entertaining style to Seville

Since appointing former B team coach Claudio Giraldez, Celta Vigo have transformed into one of La Liga’s most exciting teams to watch. They sit comfortably mid-table, having scored the sixth most goals in the league while also conceding the third most.

Celta’s matches have averaged 3.25 goals per game this season, while Sevilla’s last seven games have averaged exactly three – helped by last weekend’s seven-goal encounter in Madrid.

Both teams have shown defensive vulnerabilities this season and both could well score in this clash with Sevilla preferred for the win because Celta have lost five of their seven away league contests this term.
