Seville can star against out-of-form rivals

Valencia were stuffed 5-0 by Barcelona at the Mestalla on Sunday, but there is no time for Los Ches to wallow with Carlos Corberan’s men heading to Seville on Friday night.

Valencia have taken only a point from their opening four La Liga matches and they sit at the bottom of the Spanish top-flight table.

Los Ches failed to add any real quality in the transfer market and the poor start has to be a huge concern to the Black and Whites.

Prior to the hammering by Barca, Corberan’s men were beaten 3-1 at Deportivo, 1-0 by Betis and they picked up a 0-0 draw with Celta Vigo.

Los Ches have scored only one goal this season and that’s no huge surprise given Valencia have hit only 11 shots on target in four La Liga matches.

Seville began their Spanish top-flight campaign with a 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano and a 3-1 success at Athletic Club.

Yuri Berchiche’s early red card helped Seville on their way at San Mames, but Los Nervionenses were reduced to ten men when Arouna Sangante was sent off at Espanyol last weekend and Luis García Plaza’s men were able to leave Catalonia with a point.

Seville are a solid side, who can see off Valencia.
