Slovenia vs Norway Predictions
- Erling Haaland has scored five of Norway’s six UEFA Nations League goals during this campaign.
- The Manchester City striker has 20 goals in 21 senior international appearances.
- Haaland has scored in five of Norway’s last six games, including friendlies.
- Slovenia have conceded eight goals in their four Nations League games.
Slovenia face Haaland challenge
Erling Haaland and Norway may be absent from the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, but they are strong favourites to top Group B4 of the UEFA Nations League after winning three of their first four games. Upcoming opponents Slovenia are bottom after taking just one point thus far, and – like so many of his recent opponents – may be powerless to resist the indomitable striker.
Norway have scored six goals so far in this Nations League campaign, with five coming from the City man. Haaland, who has 20 goals in 21 senior international appearances, has also netted in five of Norway’s last six games (a total of eight goals). Meanwhile, only the Netherlands have beaten Norway in their last 13 games, and the poor defensive record of Slovenia should mean Haaland gets plenty of chances.
Indeed, Slovenia have conceded eight goals across their four Nations League games, and are winless in six matches in 2022, including friendlies. Matijaz Kek’s men held Stale Solbakken’s Norway to a goalless draw in June, but Qatar are the only other side they have shut out since last October, and they will have to show some attacking impetus here as they bid to avoid relegation – potentially opening up space for Haaland.
In-form striker can continue hot streak
Given Slovenia’s poor form and Haaland’s incredible goalscoring run since he arrived in the Premier League – as well as his status as Norway’s penalty taker – backing the 22-year-old to net anytime seems a strong play.
Meanwhile, a 2-0 win for Norway could represent a good correct score prediction – Solbakken’s team have kept six clean sheets in their last nine games.
