Sonderjyske vs Lyngby Predictions

Sonderjyske signs promising despite opening loss

Both newly promoted Sonderjyske and Lyngby began their Danish Superliga campaigns with defeats but they can pick up their first points of the season when they meet in Haderslev.

Sonderjyske were crowned First Division champions in 2023-24, winning 20 of their 32 matches and scoring 71 goals in the process.

And despite sustaining a defeat, they showed signs of promise upon their return to the Danish Superliga, losing 1-0 away to Silkeborg.

They kept things tight in that match and were not far off earning a respectable draw, having conceded the only goal of the game in the 77th minute.

Lyngby looking to bounce back from Copenhagen setback

And the stalemate could be the way to go this time around when they take on Lyngby, who finished last season’s Danish Superliga in the mid-table positions.

During that campaign they recorded five draws and there could be little separating them and the new boys on Friday.

Lyngby were also defeated in their opener, although they began their campaign against title hopefuls Copenhagen, losing 2-0 against the divisional big guns.

Punters should therefore not read too much into that loss, although Lyngby were not exactly barnstorming last season and Sonderjyske can use home advantage to salvage a point from the contest.

In terms of a correct score, both teams have scored in three of Lyngby’s last five road trips in the Danish Superliga and 1-1 looks like a wise pick.
