Swansea City Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

The Saints have hardly hit the ground running back in the Championship and Swansea are worth backing in the draw-no-bet market after wins at Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday.

Swansea City 2-1

Reason for tip

Southampton have kept just one clean sheet in the second tier this season and Swansea can get the job done at St Mary’s by winning by the odd goal in three.

Southampton vs Swansea City Predictions

  • Southampton’s only Championship win since the opening weekend was against bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United.
  • Both teams have scored in five of Swansea’s last six matches.
  • The Saints have kept one Championship clean sheet all season.

Disappointing start for Saints

It has not been plain sailing for Southampton since they fell back into the Championship and they could be in for more disappointment when they host Swansea on Saturday.

The Saints would certainly expect to be fighting it out at the other end of the table, but a victory over struggling Sheffield United is the only win they have earned since beating Wrexham on the opening weekend, and they needed two injury-time goals to get past the Dragons on that occasion.

The south coast outfit have struggled to turn their draws into wins – they have been held five times in nine league games – and Swansea look capable of making them fight all the way at the weekend.

Swans can put up a fight

The Swans lost 3-1 at home to Leicester in their last outing but that was only their second defeat since they fell at Middlesbrough on the opening weekend.

Apart from an epic EFL Cup victory over Premier League Nottingham Forest, the other highlights of the campaign have been victories at Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday, which demonstrated they cannot be dismissed on the road.

They were unfortunate not to get something at Birmingham when they were sunk by a late Lyndon Dykes goal and they have the potential to do well at St Mary’s.

The number of draws Southampton have been involved in – Swansea have had three themselves – means a draw-no-bet investment on the visitors may be the course of action with a small bet on a 2-1 away success recommended for correct-score enthusiasts.
