Saints on a roll

St Patricks are the form side in the Irish Premier Division over the last ten games and can keep their title charge on track when hosting travel-sick Cork City on Friday.

Saints ran riot last weekend when putting seven past bottom of the table UCD, chalking up their seventh win in the last ten games in the process.

They start round 23 just four points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers and will expect to at least maintain that gap with a sixth straight victory at Richmond Park.

Daly’s men can turn the screw on Cork

Since St Patricks appointed Jon Daly as head coach in May, they’ve won five out of five at home and a Cork side winless in three are unlikely to end that run.

Cork are currently on a recruitment drive as they bid to escape the relegation places but any turnaround isn’t predicted to begin against St Patricks, who are unbeaten in ten against Cork, winning both meetings this season.

Cork are a better side than the one stuffed 4-0 on their last trip to Richmond Park and the margin of victory may be narrower, but not by much with Saints’ attack clearly in good form and fancied to record a 3-0 victory.

Goals have been hard to come by for Cork in recent games and a sixth away defeat to nil is the top option.
