Terriers cup test for Sunderland

Sunderland take on League One outfit Huddersfield in the EFL Cup on Tuesday in a game where both managers could be tempted to make a few changes.

The hosts will no doubt have one eye on next week’s home game against Brentford, a direct rival in the Premier League relegation battle, so it would be no surprise to see boss Regis Le Bris shuffle his pack.

Huddersfield may also opt for a couple of changes but they should still name a fairly strong side.

Sunderland are the clear favourites to win and they may be able to avoid beind on the wrong end of an upset, but the best angle could be backing both teams to score.

Sunderland conceded in their final four home games in the Championship last season, including the play-offs, and Huddersfield have been in fine scoring form this term – hitting 12 goals in total access six games in all competitions.

The Terriers were able to stun Championship outfit Leicester in the previous round but they could fall short here. Sunderland picked up 43 points in 24 home games in the Championship last season and overcame West Ham in their only outing at the Stadium of Light so far this term, with goals at both ends predicted a 2-1 home win has a chance.
