      Paris FC to Win

      Reason for tip

Troyes will be full of momentum after winning Ligue 2 but the wind is likely to be taken out of their sails by big-spending Paris FC. The Parisians have added real quality to the squad and new manager Liam Rosenior enjoyed great success during his last Ligue 1 stint with Strasbourg.

      Paris FC 2-1

      Reason for tip

A win may prove beyond Troyes, but they do have plenty of firepower and can net a consolation. The hosts scored 16 goals while winning their final five home games of last season and can trouble a Paris FC defence which has managed just two clean sheets in eight matches.

      Troyes vs Paris FC Predictions

      • Paris FC have lost just one of their last seven away games
      • Troyes lost 22 and won only four games in their last Ligue 1 campaign (2022-23)
      • Paris FC are unbeaten in five head-to-heads, winning the last three

Big-spending Parisians primed to start with a win

Ligue 2 champions Troyes will be hoping to make their top-flight return with a win when they host Paris FC on Saturday but the capital club’s big spending suggests that may be a tough task.

Only their city rivals, PSG, have spent more than Paris FC this summer, with Lassine Sinayoko, Luca Koleosho and Diego Coppola among the eye-catching new faces to arrive in the City of Light.

They have added real quality to a squad which was already good enough to survive by 20 points last season and the ambitious Parisians look to be targeting a European place.

Troyes set to be sacked by Blues

That contrasts greatly with the goals of Troyes, who will be happy to simply survive in Ligue 1 for a change, having been relegated in four of their last five top-flight campaigns.

Stephane Dumont’s side start on the back foot, however. Key men Martin Adeline and Mathys Detourbet have departed for Hamburg and Manchester City, leaving the squad much weaker than the one which won Ligue 2.

There have been very few incomings at the Stade de l’Aube and, with Paris FC appointing a proven Ligue 1 manager in former Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior and splashing the cash to add real quality, a sacking of Troyes is on the cards.
