USA vs Brazil Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in ten of Brazil’s last 14 games
  • Brazil have scored seven times in three games under their new manager Dorival Junior
  • Rodrygo netted 17 times in all competitions for Real Madrid last season

Hosts struggling

The United States suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Colombia in their first warm up game for this year’s Copa America and their struggles may continue when they face Brazil.

The USMNT have now won just one of their last five games, including defeats at the hands of Slovenia and Trinidad and Tobago.

A 2-0 victory over rivals Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League final is the only thing that the side have had to cheer about recently and they are up against it when they host Brazil in Orlando on Thursday.

Selecao back on track under new boss

The Selecao beat Mexico 3-2 last time out and have won the last seven head-to-heads between this pair.

Brazil suffered three defeats in a row at the back end of last year but have bounced back with a 1-0 win over England and a 3-3 draw with Spain under new boss Dorival Junior.

Both teams have scored in ten of the visitors’ last 14 games and a repeat of that is fancied, although Brazil’s attacking talent is likely to be too much for a USA team that looked out of their depth in Saturday’s defeat.

Gregg Berhalter’s role as USA manager could come under pressure if they have a poor summer campaign.

Correct score backers should note that three of the last five meetings between these two have gone over 3.5 goals so take a 3-1 win for Brazil.

Rodrygo was rested against Mexico but is likely to feature here, he netted 17 times in all competitions for Real Madrid last season and can get on the scoresheet here.
