Venezia vs Fiorentina Predictions

• Fiorentina have won each of their last three away league games
• Venezia are without a win in four Serie A matches
• Both teams have scored in six of Fiorentina’s seven fixtures

Viola can hit all the right notes

Venezia’s return to Serie A has not yet gone how they would have hoped and their early-season struggles may continue with defeat at home to Fiorentina.

Venezia have collected only five points from their first seven matches and their opening two home games have seen them lose 2-1 to second-bottom Spezia and draw 1-1 with Torino.

There have been some signs of promise from Paolo Zanetti’s men, but they have netted only five times this season and it is that lack of firepower that may cost them dearly.

And they look particularly vulnerable at home to Fiorentina, who have hit the ground running under Vincenzo Italiano.

Viola sit fifth, having collected 12 points from seven games, and that is despite having a tricky set of fixtures to contend with.

Fiorentina have lost on three occasions this term but those defeats have come against Roma, Inter and Napoli – three teams currently above them in the table.

Even so, the visitors scored in each of those defeats and they head to Venezia seeking a fourth straight away league success.

Italiano’s troops have won on trips to Atalanta, Genoa and Udinese and should fancy their chances of following up at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium.

However, it is worth noting that Fiorentina have managed only one clean sheet this season and both teams have scored in six of their seven league encounters.

With that in mind, we predict a consolation goal for the hosts and are opting for a 2-1 away win. All four of Viola’s league wins have been recorded by a single goal and three of those finished 2-1.
