La Viola can bounce back

Fiorentina can bounce back from the disappointment of their Conference League exit at the semi-final stage on Thursday by beating Venezia on Monday.

They are eighth in Serie A, ten places and 33 points above 18th-placed Venezia, with 17 wins from their 35 games this season. The hosts have won four times so far.

The relegation-threatened hosts have been disappointing in front of goal at home this season, scoring just 13 goals in 17 games – an average of 0.76 goals per game. Venezia are without a goal in six of their last eight home matches in the league.

The hosts’ defence has been leaking goals of late, with six of Venezia’s last eight games ending without a clean sheet. They haven’t kept out the opposition in the last three Serie A matches.

A narrow Fiorentina win is on the cards, with a 1-0 correct score in favour of the visitors looking like a decent bet. Sixteen of Venezia’s last 18 Serie A games have stayed under 2.5 goals and they have lost seven of those games 1-0.
