Torino to Win

Reason for tip

Torino have been arguably the most impressive side in the opening weeks of the Serie A season, earning a point against AC Milan before beating Atalanta 2-1. They have some top players and momentum should help them beat Venezia, who are yet to win a match this term and were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by second-tier Brescia.

Torino 2-1

Reason for tip

While defeat seems likely for the Winged Lions, they could have enough to score and give the home crowd something to cheer. Both teams to score has been a winning bet in ten of Venezia’s last 14 home matches, as well as in seven of Torino’s last ten on the road, making 2-1 an appealing correct score bet.

Venezia vs Torino Predictions

  • Venezia took four points off of Torino when they were last in their relegation campaign of 2021-22
  • Torino have won four of their last six matches and opened the season by taking four points against two Champions League sides, AC Milan and Atalanta
  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in ten of Venezia’s last 14 home games and seven of Il Toro’s last ten on the road

Torino’s terrific start to continue in Venice

After a mediocre campaign which saw Torino finish ninth in Serie A and some way off the European places, Paolo Vanoli’s side have begun the season in excellent fashion – drawing 2-2 with last season’s runners-up AC Milan before beating Europa League winners Atalanta 2-1 – and find themselves third in the table.

Having achieved four points from a run in which they probably would have expected zero, a trip to the Floating City is unlikely to fill them with two much fear as they take on a Venezia side who are yet to find their feet back in the top flight.

The Winged Lions started the season with a 3-1 Coppa Italia loss to second-tier Brescia and have opened their league campaign with a loss by the same scoreline to Lazio and a 0-0 draw with Fiorentina – a match in which they were dominated, having four less shots on target than La Viola and four fewer corners.

Hosts’ hopes of a first win likely to fall flat

Given Torino’s strong results, that fortunate point against Fiorentina looks set to be Venezia’s sole reward before the international break as Il Toro will be looking to continue their promising start to life under Vanoli.

New signings Saul Coco and Che Adams – the latter scored an assisted in the win over Atalanta – have settled in Turin seamlessly and Venezia are unlikely to have enough to replicate their feat of beating Torino as they did in their latest meeting in 2022.

Il Toro have won four of their last six matches and, despite the strength of their opening two opponents, only seven sides have racked up more expected goals than their 3.38 in Serie A this term.

Back Torino to continue riding the crest of a wave in the City of Water.
