Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Sassuolo have scored in their last four league games, including both previous Serie A road trips this term. They have forwards in form after last week’s 3-1 win over Udinese and can push Verona into scoring at home again. The Mastiffs have conceded eight goals in five games this season, but never more than once at home, hence the 1-1 prediction.

Andrea Pinamonti To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Andrea Pinamonti has scored at least 10 Serie A goals in three of the last four seasons and looks to be in good form for Sassuolo again. He had a hand in his side’s first goal against Udinese last weekend and scored in a 3-2 defeat to Cremonese last month.

Mastiffs set to dog it out

Two clubs that could be battling against relegation later in the season meet at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Friday night. Hosts Hellas Verona are currently just above the bottom three with three points from five matches and, although they have yet to win a game, the signs are not all that bad.

Paulo Zanetti’s side are coming off a 2-0 defeat to an in-form Roma side that don’t look like conceding, but they did claim a home point against Juventus earlier in September.

The Mastiffs are not pretty to watch. They play a 3-5-2 system that clogs up the midfield and they concede a lot of free-kicks, but they still have a better expected goals figure than several teams in the top half of the table.

Both teams to score at Bentegodi

Meanwhile, Sassuolo will arrive in Veneto with renewed confidence after a 3-1 home win over Udinese. Fabio Grosso’s side have a balanced look about them with some composed defenders, industrious midfielders and sharp strikers. They could win this if they get their noses in front.

However, backing both teams to score is a safer option with Verona currently still unbeaten at home in three league and cup games this season.

Both teams have scored in three of Sassuolo’s last four Serie A outings and Verona have the firepower to ensure it lands again.
