      Watford to Win

      Reason for tip

Watford have been tough to overcome at Vicarage Road this season, with the Hornets winning three of their five matches at home. Javi Gracia’s side have only lost once in front of their own fans, and they should be able to get the better of a West Brom side that lost 3-0 to Millwall in their last match on the road.

      Watford 1-0

      Reason for tip

West Brom have struggled at the back in recent weeks and they have conceded in seven of their last nine matches in the Championship. All three of Watford’s wins this season have come by a single goal and they can sneak past the Baggies in midweek.

Watford vs West Bromwich Albion Predictions

Hornets to sneak past the Baggies on home soil

Javi Gracia’s second spell at Watford began with a loss at Sheffield United at the weekend, but the Hornets should be backed to get the better of Ryan Mason’s West Brom at Vicarage Road on Wednesday.

West Brom are ten places and five points above Watford in the table. The hosts are 15th with three wins, three draws and four defeats from their ten games, while West Brom have won five, drawn two and lost three.

The Watford attack has been enjoying a prolific spell in front of goal, with the hosts scoring at least twice in three of their last four Championship games – a run which has included two 2-1 wins at home.

West Brom have conceded seven goals on their travels so far this season in the Championship, an average of 1.40 goals per game from five away games. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last nine league matches.

All three of Watford’s Championship successes this season have been by the odd goal, and a 1-0 win at home looks a decent correct-score bet.
