Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig Predictions

Leipzig look set to continue their good form away at Werder Bremen on Saturday. The hosts have struggled at the back this season and Leipzig should be able to take advantage.

They are ten places and 22 points above Werder Bremen in the table. The hosts are 14th with seven wins, seven draws and 13 losses, while Leipzig sit fourth, having won 15, drawn five and lost seven.

Leipzig kept up their recent winning trend with a 5-0 win over Hoffenheim two weeks ago, in which Brajan Gruda bagged a brace, including the opener in the 17th minute. The result makes it 11 wins in the 14 matches in which Leipzig have been odds-on this season.

The hosts’ struggles in front of goal are a concern. Werder Bremen have failed to score in more Bundesliga games this season than any other team, going goalless in 11 of their 27 matches. They have managed just 14 goals at home, averaging just over a goal per game from their 13 home matches.

Leipzig have been in good form lately, winning three of their last four Bundesliga games. They have also lost on just one of their last seven visits to Werder Bremen in the league.

Defending has not been Werder Bremen’s strong suit this term. They have conceded 23 goals at home in the Bundesliga this season – an average of 1.77 goals per game from 13 home games – and have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last nine on home turf.

A 2-1 away win for Leipzig looks a decent correct-score bet. Nine of the visitors’ last 11 Bundesliga games have produced three goals or more and they have been 2-1 winners in two of their last three on the road.
