Monchengladbach heading for happy Hamburg trip

Hamburg were on a run of three straight victories after beating Cologne 2-1, Hoffenheim 3-2 and Stuttgart 1-0 but it has all unraveled since that success over Stuttgart last month. 

Die Rothosen lost 1-0 at Paderborn in the Bundesliga and that defeat came with HSV hitting only one shot on target. A 3-1 German Cup defeat at home to Eintracht Frankfurt and that was another contest in which Merlin Polzin’s men offered little attacking output. 

Last weekend saw Hamburg fall 3-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, this time in the Bundesliga, and it is a concerning run of results.

The lack of attacking output is a big concern if taking a fairly short price when Hamburg host Borussia Monchengladbach. 

The visitors are on the rise after a poor start and it is two victories and a draw in Monchengladbach’s last three matches. 

The data points to the Foals as being the stronger side and that is likely to be reflected at Volksparkstadion.
