Luton Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

It will be David Moyes’s final game in charge at West Ham and it could fall flat as the Hammers have failed to win any of their last six matches. Luton are desperate for points and could reward double-chance punters by gaining at least a point.

Luton 2-1

Reason for tip

Manchester City and Arsenal are the only teams against whom Luton have failed to score in their last 15 away league games and they could just nick a 2-1 win,

Carlton Morris To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Carlton Morris has done well to score ten goals this season in a struggling team and he could make his mark again as Luton attempt to pull off a great escape.

West Ham United vs Luton Predictions

  • West Ham have won just one of their last ten matches
  • The Hammers have taken a full return in just one of their last nine at the London Stadium
  • Luton have failed to score in just two of their last 15 away league games

Interesting times at fading West Ham

There could be a strange atmosphere at the London Stadium on Saturday for what will be David Moyes’s final game in charge of West Ham and Luton may sneak up and make it a day to forget for the outgoing Hammers boss.

The club announced this week that Julen Lopetegui will taken the reins for next season and replace the man who brought the East Enders their first major trophy in 43 years last term, and there is a feeling the whole episode could have been handled a bit better.

Of course, an end to the uncertainty could help the Hammers out of a dismal run that has seen them knocked out of the Europa League and fail to win any of their last six games.

That includes the concession of five goals in visits to Crystal Palace and Chelsea, and while they have put up some decent home performances against Liverpool and Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen lately, they could still be vulnerable against the Hatters, who are fighting for their Premier League lives.

Opportunity there for Hatters to grab a lifeline

Luton have earned plenty of admirers for the positive attitude they have displayed in their first season back in the big time, but the time for encouraging performances is over.

They now desperately need points and they should be able to get something from their trip to the London Stadium, despite the fact they have lost their last five matches on their travels.

Rob Edwards’s side have at least gone all out to stay up from the word go and they have no option but to attack on Saturday and it is notable that the only times in their last 15 away games that they have failed to score have come at Arsenal and Manchester City.

Three points would give them a chance of staying up on the final day if Nottingham Forest fall flat at home to in-form Chelsea and it is worth chancing that they can get something against a team with little to play for, who are just looking forward to new beginnings over the summer.

A surprise win is within their scope, but preference is to back the Luton or draw double chance – six of West Ham’s last nine at home have been draws – with a small investment on a 2-1 away win.

Morris can be the man for Luton

If Luton are going to pull off the great escape then striker Carlton Morris looks set to play a key role.

Ten goals is a decent return in a struggling team for a player featuring at the top level for the first time and he is not afraid to try his luck.

He has had 12 attempts at goal in his last five appearances for the Hatters and as he is also on penalties for the Bedfordshire outfit, it is worth chancing that he can get on the scoresheet once again.
