West Ham United vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- West Ham have won five of their eight home games across all competitions.
- Forest have lost four of their six league trips.
- Forest have failed to score in their last three away games.
Hammers can make home advantage count
West Ham are yet to win a league game after a midweek European fixture but they may be able to end that run when they host poor travellers Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Forest have lost four of their six away games and they’ve failed to score in their last three trips, while West Ham’s home form has been fairly solid with five wins in eight games across all competitions.
Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez return from suspension for the hosts but Kurt Zouma is expected to miss out.
Forest are likely to be without Harry Toffolo, who was forced off after setting up two goals in the win over Aston Villa last time out, while Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chris Wood and Divock Origi are among Forest’s absentees.
Rare clean sheet for West Ham
West Ham have generally struggled for clean sheets this season but they have a chance to record back-to-back shut-outs on Sunday after their 1-0 midweek win over Olympiakos.
Forest have failed to score in their last three away from home and this is a bit of a continuation from last season where they managed just 11 goals in 19 Premier League trips.
This may be a fairly low-scoring contest and a 2-0 win for West Ham is the correct score prediction, as they are scoring on average 1.6 goals-per-game and I’m not expecting Forest to get on the scoresheet.
Hammers forward Jarrod Bowen has seven goals in 11 Premier League games this term and he looks a strong candidate for an anytime goal on Sunday. The England international scored in the cup win over Arsenal and the defeat to Brentford in West Ham’s last league game, while he had two attempts against Olympiakos but was unable to add to his account in that European clash.
