AFC United vs Halmstad Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

AFC United put in a decent shift last season in their first campaign back in the Sweden Superettan, finishing comfortably in 8th position. This season they are aiming for bigger and better things though, and they come into this match in an impressive 3rd position in the Superettan with just two points separating them from the top spot.

Their 27 point total after 14 games leaves them just 13 short of what they achieved in the entirety of last season, and we’re under halfway through the season at the moment. But whilst a win could take them to the top of the table, a defeat could send them down to 5th position and damage their hopes of a first ever promotion to the Allsvenskan.

Last time out they could only manage a draw against the in form Dalkurd, with that following on from a 2-0 defeat to Varnamo which ended their three match winning streak.

Another defeat could be on the cards as well, because they’re coming up against the leaders of the pack. Halmstad sit atop the Superettan with a one point advantage over Sirius, but they will drop to at least 2nd position if they lose on Saturday.

Halmstad had a shaky start to the season when they lost to Sirius on the opening day of the campaign, and after that defeat it looked unlikely that they would find easy passage back into the Allsvenskan after being relegated last term. They turned it around though, and since that defeat they have only lost another two games in their 13 outings and have won nine times.

One of those defeats did come in their last away game though, when Frej shockingly beat them 5-2 to end their five match unbeaten streak on the road. AFC United are unbeaten in six home games though, so this won’t be an easy game for either team.

Halmstad have scored in every one of their away days this season, but have also conceded in four of their seven trips away. AFC United have also found the net in each one of their home games, so both teams should be able find the net on Saturday. That’s my prediction as well, so I’m backing Both Teams to Score at 4/5 along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 5/1.
