B36 Torshavn vs Crusaders Predictions

B36, who hail from the Faroe Islands, would’ve been hoping to grab an away goal in Northern Ireland last week, though they were unable to leave Seaview with anything to show for their efforts, as they failed to find the net, losing by two goals to nil. They may fancy themselves to do better on home soil, but the side from Torshavn aren’t likely to have an easy time overturning the deficit.

While B36 disappointed last week, there was lots to like about the way in which Crusaders went about their business in the first leg. They didn’t quite dominate the ball, though that seemed to suit the Northern Irish side, who appeared to relish the chance to play on the break at times. Not only did they look effective on the counter, but Crusaders defended well, while it was they that played with purpose in the final third.

As they managed 13 shots, seven of which hit the target, the Northern Irish side offered lots going forward a week ago, while as they allowed their opponents just five shots, none of which hit the target, they also did a very good job of restricting their opponents. Such a performance suggests that they can do well in this second leg.

As for the B36, well Thursday’s hosts look up against it. They’re now playing on home soil, but they’ll be forced to adopt an open, attacking approach, which doesn’t bode well considering that Crusaders showed lots of end-product last week and looked effective on the break.

The hosts may be buoyed by the fact that Crusaders don’t have a pleasing away record in this competition, though B36’s previous home efforts don’t exactly point towards them turning the tie around. The side from the Faroe Islands haven’t scored two goals in a home UEL qualifier since 2005, despite having had eight bites of the cherry.

In the betting, ‘Crusaders to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ stands out as a good bet. Not only did the visitors look very dangerous last week, but they’ll be aided by the fact that the hosts have no choice but to adopt a cavalier approach. Add in the fact that B36 have conceded at least twice in seven of their last nine home qualifiers and backing the Northern Irish side to once again thrive in front of goals makes plenty of appeal.
