Brentford vs Derby Predictions

• Brentford have won three of their last four league games (D1) and are unbeaten in nine (W4, D5).
• Second-bottom Derby have won just one of their last 12 Championship matches, losing six.
• Brentford ran out convincing winners in both league meetings between the sides last term including a 3-0 victory here at Griffin Park.

Rams to Feel the Sting

Derby County picked up just their second win of the season at Millwall on Saturday, but the Rams should come up short at Griffin Park this Wednesday when they lock horns with a Brentford side unbeaten in nine.

Jason Knight’s second half goal at The Den brought a great deal of relief to everyone involved at Derby and ended a miserable run of 11 Championship starts without a victory.

With just two points separating them from safety, Rams supporters will have renewed optimism with interim boss Wayne Rooney at the helm, but it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to follow-up here against a Brentford side who are slowly coming to hand.

Thomas Franke’s side were held to a 2-2 draw here by Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, but the Bees had previously won their last three outings at Griffin Park. They go into this Wednesday’s fixture sixth in the table and 16 points better off than the visitors following four wins and five draws from their last nine and extending their unbeaten sequence to ten should be a relative formality.

The hosts are priced up no more than fairly at around 8/13 but it’s difficult to envisage any result other than a comfortable Brentford success. Franke’s side won both league meetings between the pair last term including a 3-0 triumph at Griffin Park and we’ll back the Bees to post the same margin of victory one more.
