Chelsea vs Huddersfield Predictions

Chelsea take on Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, looking to bounce straight back with a win following their harrowing 0-4 defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday evening.

Chelsea’s complete capitulation at the Vitality Stadium against a clinical Cherries side was the Blues’ worst defeat in the league for 22 years. On a night when nothing went right for Maurizio Sarri, new signing Gonzalo Higuain was hauled off after 65 minutes, following a hugely disappointing performance.

The loss was Chelsea’s third straight reverse on the road in all competitions after their defeats in the capital to Tottenham and Arsenal respectively. The Blues hammering on Wednesday was so damaging to their goal difference, that they were replaced in the top 4 by Arsenal.

Huddersfield failed to score in a massive 62% of their Premier League games at the John Smith’s Stadium this term, though that figure falls to just 36% when you analyse their away games alone.

We fancy Town to snatch a goal again this weekend against a Blues defence that has looked shaky in recent weeks. The only clean sheets Chelsea secured in their last 7 games, came against tier two teams Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.

A goal is likely to be a mere consolation for Huddersfield however against a Chelsea team that has lost only once in 12 league games at Stamford Bridge this season.
