      Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Predictions

It’s been another frustrating season for Crystal Palace fans, who again have seen their talented squad fail to build any sort of momentum in the Premier League. Despite the high quality of players at their disposal, they still aren’t quite out of the relegation battle yet.

Coming into their final eight games of the season they sit five points clear of 18th placed Cardiff, and while most of the Selhurst Park faithful will be confident of avoiding a relegation tussle, it’s by no means a foregone conclusion.

The Eagles have made some headway on their form issues recently though. The pre-international break clash saw them eliminated from the FA Cup at the hands of Watford, but they have only lost two of their last seven Premier League matches and have won three times. However, their failures at Selhurst Park continue to baffle, with just one win from their last seven matches there.

Coming up against Huddersfield they should be confident of adding another victory to that tally though. The Terriers are all but doomed in the top flight, sitting rock bottom of the table with a 16 point chasm between themselves and safety.

Their last outing was a 4-3 defeat in a thrilling match against West Ham, where they let a 3-1 lead slip in the final 15 minutes. Generally speaking, though, The Terriers demise has been far less exciting than that match suggests. They have scored just 18 league goals all season and have lost 16 of their last 18 league matches.

Away from home they are without a win since November, losing eight of their nine games since then and failing to score on six occasions. Combine that with the fact that Selhurst Park has seen fewer Premier League goals than any other ground this season and you can see why we’re expecting a low scoring affair.

11 of Palace’s 15 home league games have seen fewer than three goals scored, with an average of just 1.86 goals per game this term. Huddersfield have seen fewer than three goals in four of their last six away matches as well, so we think backing Under 2.5 Goals here is the best option along with a 1-0 win for the hosts.
