FC Copenhagen vs Nordsjaelland Predictions

Copenhagen might have lost their last two matches, but that doesn’t stop the hosts heading into Saturday’s match against Nordsjaelland as the clear form favourites. The visitors arrive having failed to win any of their last nine matches and, despite sitting sixth in the table, have exactly half as many points on the board as the league leaders Copenhagen.

Copenhagen were edged out of a seven-goal thriller away at Esbjerg last time out, finding themselves two goals down at the interval. Despite an own goal, a penalty from Skov, and a strike from Wing putting Copenhagen 3-2 up with fifteen minutes left on the clock, Esbjerb scored twice in the latter stages of the match to pinch all three points. Nordsjaelland were also involved in an action packed ninety minutes last weekend, where despite going two goals behind early on the hosts Nordsjaelland fought back to claim a share of the spoils. Amon pulled a crucial goal back for the hosts just before the break and teammate Rygaard Jesen equalised early in the second half, but neither side could carve out a winning goal and the points were shared.

The head to head record between these two clubs, especially over recent seasons, coupled with both teams form and performances over the last month in the Superliga, all points towards a home win and over 2.5 goals being scored. Copenhagen are unbeaten in their last five matches against Nordsjaelland, have won three of the last five matches, and over 2.5 goals have been scored in five of the last six encounters between the two clubs. Over 2.5 goals have also been scored in all of Copenhagen’s and four of Nordsjaelland’s last six matches, and the hosts have won four of their last six matches, while their guests have lost three of their last six. Nordsjaelland are without a win in their last nine matches and we can’t see that run ending this weekend, which is why we are backing Copenhagen to win 3-0.

Skov and N’Doye have scored fifty league goals between them for Copenhagen this season, while Olsen has impressed for Nordsjaelland with twenty-one Superliga goals. We’re confident that Copenhagen will win and that over 2.5 goals will be scored on Saturday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 3-0. Copenhagen have the home advantage, are the form favourites, and have outperformed Nordsjaelland in all departments so far this season, which is why we’re expecting a convincing victory for the hosts.
