Fortuna Dusseldorf vs Bayern Munich Predictions

Bayern Munich are set to travel to Merkur Spielarena to face Fortuna Dusseldorf this Saturday’s German Bundesliga fixture. Hansi Flick will hope to continue his perfect start to life in charge of the German giants. Bayern will be tested by an in-form Fortuna side in Saturday’s fixture. 

Saturday’s game will see an exciting clash between two of the Bundesliga’s in-form strikers. Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski has enjoyed an inspired start to the 2019/20 season in front of goal.

Fortuna’s Rouwen Hennings has also been enjoying an exceptional run of form in recent weeks. Hennings is the Bundesliga’s third-highest goalscorer at present, scoring nine Bundesliga goals this season. 

Hennings has scored eight goals in Fortuna’s last seven games in all competitions, including his hat-trick versus Schalke before the international break. 

We predict that this fixture is likely to deliver plenty of goals. Bayern have been no strangers to high scoring games this season. Their attack, thanks in no small part to Robert Lewandowski, has been firing on all cylinders this season. However, their defence has struggled at times. 

Bayern are the Bundesliga’s joint-highest goalscorers, with 29 goals scored from 11 games. However, they also have the poorest defensive record in the top half of the Bundesliga table, conceding 16 goals. 

We feel that Bayern’s attack is unlikely to drop in form for Saturday’s game. However, without the injured Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez, as well as the suspended Jerome Boateng, their defence may be vulnerable to an in-form Fortuna attack.

Bayern have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven competitive away games. Meanwhile, Fortuna have only failed to score in one of their 13 competitive games this season. 

We feel that both teams to score is a market worth betting on in this game.

Bayern have conceded at least two goals in their last three Bundesliga away games. Meanwhile, Fortuna have scored at least two goals in each of their last three competitive fixtures. We feel that a 3-2 win for Bayern is a likely result of this game.
