Gais vs Orgyte IS Predictions

Orgryte headed into this round of fixtures in 2nd place and well poised to launch a serious bid for promotion to the top flight. However having suffered a few recent setbacks, an away trip to mid-table GAIS will provide a decent test of their metal and we may well get a better idea as to whether this is going to be a genuine slump or if their last few results have been just a blip.

Overall you’d have to say Orgryte have certainly overachieved so far this term. They needed to win a relegation play-off just to stay in the Superettan in 2017, so nobody was really expecting them to challenge for promotion. It is still relatively early days though and with more likely challengers mounting behind them, the pressure is on Orgryte to keep up their bright start.

GAIS meanwhile are basically operating at the same level as last term when they finished an unremarkable 9th. They headed into match-day 12 in 8th place and again appear to be one of a number of sides that have enough about them to avoid any form of relegation scrap but may lack a little in terms of making a serious promotion push.

Even so, they will feel they have enough about them to get a result here. They’ve taken 1.4 points per home game so far this term, which is better than the league average. They also come into this match in pretty good form with 7 points from their last 3 outings. Only once this season have they been beaten by more than a single goal so they’ve been competitive in basically every game they’ve played.

That should be a pretty good omen ahead of a home game against an Orgryte side that has rarely convinced in recent weeks. They’ve lost their two most recent away games, losing by two goal margins at both Helsingborg and Brage. That suggests that teams have started to figure them out a little.

They’ve only won 2 of their last 5 overall and those were both home games against bottom four opposition. This will be a much tougher test and backing GAIS Double Chance looks like it could be the smart move.

It should be a tight game though as GAIS have only won four times all season so backing a 1-1 Draw could be the best bet in the Correct Score market.
