Hearts vs Inverness CT Predictions

Hearts were held at home against Scottish Championship leaders Hibernian last weekend as the visitors continue the defence of their Scottish FA Cup, setting up a replay at Hibs next week which Hearts will surely have one eye on going into this game.

The weekend before they thrashed Motherwell 3-0 away from home in the Scottish Premiership though, building fantastically on their 4-1 hammering of Rangers the week before and continuing a trend of high scoring Hearts’ games.

The hosts have now seen 18 goals in their last five games in all competitions, and their improving league form has taken them three points clear of St Johnstone below them. They are still some six points adrift of Rangers though, but with their behind the scenes turmoil it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they can catch the 3rd placed side.

A win for the hosts should be on the cards here as well. Inverness CT crashed out of the Scottish FA Cup last weekend when Celtic battered them 6-0 to continue their miserable season. They have now lost five, drawn two, and won just one of their last eight games and find themselves rock bottom of the league table with a three point gap between them and 11th placed Hamilton.

Their 2-1 win over Elgin City in their earlier Scottish Cup round is their only victory since October, and in the Premiership they are now winless in 13 matches and have lost eight of them. Away from home they have lost six of their last seven and drawn the remaining one, and they have only won once away from home all season.

Considering Hearts’ scoring form at the moment, Inverness CT will be rightly worried. The visitors have shipped at least three goals in four of their last seven trips away and are facing a Hearts side who have scored 14 goals in their last six home league games.

A lot of Hearts’ attacking form is coming from 23 year old midfielder Jamie Walker. He has netted 11 times in the Premiership this season and eight of them have come in front of the Tynecastle faithful, so odds of 13/10 for him to score anytime look excellent value for our goalscorer predictions.

Considering Hearts have scored at least three goals in three of their last six at home and Inverness CT have conceded three or more in four of their last seven, odds of 7/4 for Hearts Over 2.5 Team Goals look very good value for money, and that’s what I’m backing alongside a 4-0 correct score predictions at huge odds of 20/1.
