Helsingborg vs Hacken Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Helsingborg’s 2-0 win at GIF Sundsvall last weekend finally brought them out of the poor run of form they had been suffering from. Excluding the summer friendles they were winless in five and had lost three in a row going into last weekend’s fixture, and now they can start thinking about mounting a resurgence.

They have suffered more than one period of poor form this season though, and as such their position in the Sweden Allsvenskan has suffered. Last season’s 8th place finishers currently lie in 11th position with just 18 points from their opening 14 matches, although with just six points separating them from the top four anything could happen at this stage.

Hacken had a much less promising week. They qualified for the Europa League thanks to their Swedish Cup triumph last season, but a 1-1 draw at home to Cork City last week was followed by a 1-0 defeat in Ireland, sending them crashing out of the Europa League in the 2nd qualifying round.

In between these two legs of the tie they played out a goalless draw with Orebro in the Allsvenskan, taking their overall form record to just two wins from their last six competitive matches. Fortunately for them only one of these games ended in defeat, and in the league they are unbeaten in six outings.

Hacken have struggled to get on the scoresheet at times this season, but they shouldn’t be worrying about that coming up against Helsingborg. The hosts haven’t kept a clean sheet at home all season, and stretching back into their last campaign they haven’t kept a clean sheet on home turf in any of their last 12 outings.

However, Helsingborg have managed to find the goal themselves in every home game this season, which has resulted in six of their seven home matches having at least three goals by the time the final whistle went. Considering Hacken’s matches this season have averaged 3.36 goals per game, my prediction is that we’re in for a high scoring affair in this one.
