Juve fail to make home advantage count

The first leg of the Coppa Italia semi final between Juventus and Lazio gets underway on Tuesday and recent form would suggest that the Old Lady may have trouble claiming the initiative in front of their own fans.

Juventus have claimed victory just once across their last nine games in Serie A and lost 1-0 at the home of their cup opponents at the weekend, with Adam Marusic’s injury time strike enough to claim all three points for Lazio.

This should give Igor Tudor’s men confidence in avoiding defeat at the Juventus Stadium but Le Aquile have not had too many fond memories from visits here in recent seasons, losing five of their last six trips to the Turin giants in all competitions.

A victory may therefore be too tall of a task for the side from the Italian capital and a draw – albeit one that Lazio will undoubtedly be happier with – could be the likeliest outcome. Three of Juve’s last five home fixtures have seen both sides find the back of the net while the same can be said of four of Lazio’s last six on the road in all competitions and so a score draw could be on the cards, with our prediction being a final score of 1-1.
