Kristiansund vs Odd Predictions

This has the feel of a typical mid-table battle with just two places and three points separating the two teams currently. The sides only met a couple of months ago with Kristiansund winning 2-1 away to Odd and they’ll be looking to complete the double here with home advantage this time around.

Both sides are slightly down on where they finished last season and will do well to get themselves into the European shake-up. Kristiansund though were building some kind of momentum before the break. They’ve taken 13 points from their last 6 league games and their most recent match saw striker Bendik Bye hit an impressive hat-trick in an entertaining 3-2 win at Stromsgodset. They probably didn’t need the break in truth and will be keen to pick up where they left off here.

The opposite is largely true of Odd who have won just one of their last seven in all competitions during a period which has seen them slide down the league. Dag-Eilev Fagermo’s men did at least win their most recent match though, seeing off Lillestrom 3-1 and they would have enjoyed their month off a whole lot better following that result.

Overall though the hosts still look the more likely victors here. Kristiansund have a decent home record this term, averaging 1.75 points per game in front of their own fans. They are clearly the team in better form and have been reasonably good at both ends at home. They’ve scored in 88% of their league matches at the Kristiansund Stadion this term and have only conceded 0.88 goals per game at home on average so they appear to be a pretty solid all-round outfit.

As for Odd, they’ve really found life tough away. They average just 0.57 points per away game and that is the main reason why they find themselves jostling for positions in mid-table rather than really pushing for European places. They’ve scored just 0.71 goals per game away whilst conceding 1.71 and you have to go all the way back to April for their last league win on the road.

Given all that, backing a Home Win looks like the way to go here.

Odd are yet to score more than once away this term but they have suffered three 2-1 away league defeats, their most common scoreline on the road. That suggests backing a 2-1 Kristiansund Win is worth a flutter here.
