Leeds vs QPR Predictions

QPR are in good form and there is no real pressure on them now, which could make them difficult opponents. Overall though with Leeds so strong at home, the points should stay in West Yorkshire.

Leeds conceded late on at Fulham in midweek, just when it looked like they may grab a win that could have pushed them further towards the automatic promotion picture. They have slipped up a bit too often on the road to really mount a top two challenge but they look nailed on for a play-off place, mostly thanks to their excellent home record. Leeds have won 67% of their Championship home games this season and average 2.11 points per game at Elland Road.

They’ve won 8 of their last 9 home matches and it has been their solid defence that has been the foundation for those wins. They conceded just 1 goal in those 8 victories and have only conceded 0.67 goals per game at home this season. At the other end, one man has continued to impress. Chris Wood is now the Championship’s top scorer with 22 goals. He has netted 44% of his team’s goals this term and that makes backing Wood to score anytime at 10/11 the standout bet in the goalscorer markets here.

QPR could ask a few questions though. They’ve won 4 of their last 5 matches so confidence in their camp should be quite high but 3 of those games were at Loftus Road, against sides no higher than mid-table and their away win was at a hopelessly out of form Birmingham side. They’ve lost 47% of their away league games this term and although they have certainly improved under Ian Holloway, there’s not quite enough about them to suggest they will come away with a result here.

Given Leeds’ formidable home form, backing Leeds to Win at 17/20 looks like a good bet in this one.
