Lincoln City vs Bury Predictions

It is now seven years since Lincoln City and Bury last met in a competitive fixture but this Tuesday the two sides prepare to do battle again as they clash in League Two. The hosts have enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign but they failed to pick up all three points at the weekend, which means that they will surely come in to this match with the bit between their teeth.

The tone for Lincoln’s season was set right from the off as they proved the pre-season hype about their title aspirations with a 1-0 away win over recently relegated Northampton Town. That result was backed up on home soil as they dominated Swindon Town in a 4-1 victory, and another dominant performance to see off Port Vale 4-0 in the League Cup soon followed. However, a 1-1 draw at the weekend against local rivals Grimsby showed that they can be vulnerable.

Bury, on the other hand, have not been as impressive in their campaign so far. They started the season well with a 1-0 victory over Yeovil Town but a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the MK Dons pegged them back and despite leading much of the match with Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, they eventually succumbed to their Championship opposition and lost via a penalty shoot-out. Another draw followed last time out against Forest Green Rovers, but the visitors will be looking to go one better this Tuesday.

Lincoln have plenty of power in front of goal and have scored 10 times in their first four outings, however they have started to leak goals at the other end. This, combined with the fact that their visitors have seen both teams score in both of their previous two outings, leads us to believe that backing both teams to hit the back of the net is the way to go in this fixture.
