Milton Keynes Dons vs Scunthorpe Predictions

It would appear as though MK Dons have just about hauled themselves clear of the drop-zone and look set for another season in League One. Robbie Nielson’s men are now unbeaten in five matches and, although they are essentially safe, will want to keep this run going. Scunthorpe are well in the hunt for a place in play-offs, although, depending on how you look at it, this could be construed as a bit of a disappointment considering they were at the top of League One for a long time.

Although Scunthorpe are the team with more riding on this match, the visitors have hardly been convincing of late and are hard to trust for win purposes. The bet that stands out is ‘Both Teams to Score’. Scunthorpe’s attacking qualities simply cannot be questioned, but their defending certainly can. The visitors have struggled to shut teams out of late and, while they’re likely to score, can’t be trusted to keep a clean sheet.

The hosts have been in decent scoring form of late, especially at home where they scored three last time out, but, defensively, they’ve not been too secure. Neilson’s men have conceded in four of their last five at stadium mk and in eight of their last ten. Given Scunthorpe’s attacking strength – Morris and Madden are two players who’ve scored 31 goals between them this season – it’s hard to fancy MK Dons to keep things tight at the back here.

As touched on above, you would certainly have to fancy Scunthorpe to some damage here. They’ve blessed with some pretty useful forward players and are no strangers to scoring goals, even away from home. The visitors have scored at least once in all but two of their 21 away games during the current campaign. However, particularly in recent away outings, they’ve found it very hard to keep teams at bay, conceding in each of their last ten on the road. Not exactly the most flattering statistics.

Overall, both teams have scored in 57% of MK Dons’ home matches this season and in a rather large 71% of Scunthorpe’s away matches. All things considered, it’s hard to see an outcome where both haven’t got on the score-sheet at least once in this one.
