Northampton vs Charlton Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Having lost by the narrowest of margins during the week, both Northampton and Charlton will be looking to bounce back here. However, neither have impressed much of late so, therefore, it would be hard to fancy either with any real conviction.

With both teams looking particularly shaky of late, as touched on above, neither make the greatest appeal. Having said this, there is a still a betting opportunity, at odds of 4/5, ‘Both Teams to Score’ catches the eye.

In front of their own fans, Northampton, who’ve struggled to win as many games as they’d want, have rarely found goals hard to come by. Having played 17 times at Sixfields, the hosts have failed to score on just three occasions. However, with just four clean sheets to their name, Justin Edinburgh’s men are far from secure at the back, letting in at least one goal in nine of their last ten on home soil.

At one point Charlton were considered quite a sturdy unit, especially on their travels; however, such solidity at the back has seemingly disappeared in recent weeks and the visitors are now struggling to keep teams out. They come into this match having conceded at least once – conceded four during the week – in each of their last eight overall, as well as in each of their last six on the road. At the same time though, The Addicks are seemingly capable of causing problems for their opposition at the other end and have now scored in eight of their last ten away matches.

To say that defending hasn’t been a speciality of these two in recent weeks would be somewhat of an understatement and it would be a surprise if either managed to hold on for a clean sheet in this fixture.

The fact that both teams have scored in six of the last seven, Northampton home matches also bodes well ahead of this one.
