League leaders Sheffield United were thwarted by a Rochdale side who’ve been out of form at the weekend, when drawing 3-3 away from home. On the one hand, this somewhat freak result showed that the top-dogs are alive and well in a forward sense but that they’re not infallible defensively. On the other hand, Oxford were once again bettered on their own patch and could find it tough here.

Despite this minor blip at the weekend, Sheffield United are still very much the team to beat in this division and they’re expected to perform well here. At odds of 1/1, ‘Sheffield United to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ looks a good bet.

Scoring goals has been something that’s come easy to the league leaders this season. With no less than 64 to their name, Chris Wilder’s men are, perhaps unsurprisingly, the top-scorers in the division. Playing away from home hasn’t slowed the visitors down either and, with 34 away goals scored, they’ve scored more goals on the road than any other team in League One, scoring at least twice on ten occasions.

Oxford are by no means a poor team and they’re still very much in with a shout of securing a place in the play-offs, even if their form has dipped slightly of late. However, the hosts have started to concede a few more goals here and, more importantly, could continue to do so against a Sheffield United side who’re likely to be chomping at the bit to avenge Saturday’s missed opportunity.

The home side have conceded twice in each of their last two matches in front of their own fans and, considering the attacking pedigree of their opponents here, this stat could easily become three after Tuesday’s match.

All in all, Sheffield United boast a superior forward-line here and, with League One’s top marksman Billy Sharpe in their ranks, goals are never far away for the Blades. Backing them to add another two to their tally is well worth a go.
