Palestino vs Talleres De Cordoba Predictions

Wednesday’s Copa Libertadores final qualification round, second leg clash sees Chileans Palestino and Argentines Talleres de Córdoba doing battle once again. Plenty of action is expected at both ends of the pitch after a 2-2 draw in the first leg.

Palestino came into this tie as underdogs but have given themselves a real chance of advancing into the group phase now after showing excellent battling qualities to come back from 2-0 down in the first leg. The Chileans already did well to eliminate Colombians Independiente Medellin in the last round of qualification and if they could see off Talleres too, it’d really be quite something.

Indeed, the hosts weren’t really expected to make any waves in the competition upon their return to it for the first time since 2015, but thus far, they’ve completed extremely well. Adding to already high confidence is the fact that the hosts have also won 5 of their last 6 home games and those taking to the pitch will be hoping to make Wednesday a famous night in the club’s history.

Meanwhile, Talleres arrive kicking themselves after failing to make home advantage count and will be banking on their superior quality on paper pulling them through this time around. La T did extremely well to eliminate Brazilian powerhouse Sao Paulo against all odds in the last round of qualification but that will quickly be forgotten if they suffer defeat in Chile.

Back in the competition since their first and only appearance in 2001, Talleres fans will be desperately hoping their team can get the job done and book a slot in the group phase. Confidence can be high in doing exactly that despite the scoreline, with the team functioning pretty well at the moment and taking to the field 8 matches unbeaten.

Ultimately, the first leg between the two was one of the best matches for entertainment in the action we’ve seen in Libertadores so far this year and another exciting 90 minutes looks to be in store in this second leg. Needing at least one away goal to advance, Talleres have no option but to attack, whereas Palestino certainly won’t sit back in front of their own fans.

As such, backing both teams to score looks the way to play as far as the betting goes and is exactly where our money is going at such an appealing price. 3 of Palestino’s last 4 games have seen goals at both ends and we can only envisage that sequence being built on and whilst calling a result is hard in this one, we do fancy Talleres to edge it by a 2-1 margin.
