Port Vale vs Milton Keynes Dons Predictions

Port Vale missed a massive chance during the week,as they were beaten by the team propping up the rest of the division. A win in that match would’ve lifted the struggling side out of the drop-zone but, as they lost, the drop down to league two is looking more and more likely. MK Dons did manage to get the better of Coventry in their last match and will probably be confident of securing a similar rest here, although they have leaked a fair few goals of late.

In all honesty, it would be very difficult to confidently back either of these teams to come out on top. Both offer less than secure back-lines and, thus, the bet that stands out is ‘Both Teams to Score’.

They may well have lost during the week, but Vale did manage to get themselves on the score-sheet for the seventh consecutive fixture. The 2-1 defeat also marked the seventh consecutive fixture for Port Vale where both teams have got on the score-sheet. They might’ve upped their efforts going forward, but it appears that Vale’s defending is costing them dear.

When it comes to both scoring and conceding, MK Dons have been performing in a similar manner. The visitors have scored in five of their last six fixtures, but are without a clean sheet in their last seven. Both teams have scored in three of their last five.

Playing on the road has proved to be quite troubling for the visitors in recent times and they’ve scored in just two of their last five away matches; however, the fact that Port Vale continue to defend abysmally should fill them with confidence. After all, if Vale are conceding twice against a Coventry side who’re dead and buried, what hope do they have of keeping out a MK Dons side who’re more than useful on their day?!

The fact that Vale really have to go for it from this point on should also aid the likelihood of goals at both ends here.

Quite frankly, defending hasn’t been the speciality of either in recent weeks and this is expected to continue on Saturday afternoon.
