Preston vs Arsenal Predictions

Preston continued their rather hit and miss form this season when they beat Burton Albion 1-0 away from home on Monday. This made it four wins, four draws, and four defeats from their last 12 games in all competitions and leaves them 11th in the Championship.

One thing that will be a worry for them is their recent lack of victories at the Deepdale Stadium. Three of their four recent victories have come on their travels, and at home they have won one, drawn three, and lost two of their last six games.

Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions took another hit on Tuesday when they played a ridiculous 3-3 draw away to Bournemouth. To be honest this draw will feel like a win to them, considering they went into the final 20 minutes 3-0 down to the hosts, but it’s still two points dropped and they are now 4th in the Premier League.

This follows on from back to back victories to make it five wins, one draw, and two defeats in their last eight games in all competitions. All of these failures to win have come away from home though, making it two wins, two draws, and two defeats in their last six away days.

It’s certainly not the attacking side of things Arsenal are struggling with on the road though. They have netted in all but one of their 14 trips away this season and have a total of 35 goals on the road. Their only failure to score came in their first away match too, so they have scored in 13 games in a row.

Preston have scored in 13 of their 15 games at Deepdale though, and they’re facing an Arsenal side who have kept just two clean sheets on the road all season. This could make for a very entertaining match, especially if Arsenal’s defence repeats their shocking performance at the Vitality Stadium last time out.

There are a few players at both ends of the pitch that should feel confident about getting a goal, but most of all I expect it to be Alexis Sanchez or Olivier Giroud. Both come in at 8/11 to score anytime here, and considering Giroud has scored in his last three games and Alexis Sanchez has scored 11 goals in 13 away appearances this season, it’s easy to see why. Either of these work well for an anytime goalscorer predictions.

On the balance of things I can’t see any clean sheets here. Arsenal have been shocking at the back recently but with their attacking talent you can never count them out. Odds of 10/11 for Both Teams to Score look good value, so I’m going for that along with a 3-1 win for Arsenal at 10/1 for my correct score predictions.
