Ps Kemi vs VPS Vaasa Predictions

But for a few rare moments of joy, Kemi have had little to shout about this season. The hosts come into this match second from bottom, while they’re really struggling to get themselves on the score-sheet of late. From a defensive point of view, they’ve not exactly given in all that much, though they’re seemingly finding goals very hard to come by.

VPS aren’t in a position that is as unflattering as Kemi, but they’ve not exactly thrived this season. The visiting side will arrive at Sauvosaaren Urheilupuisto off the back of a heavy 5-0 defeat last time out, a defeat which means that they’re now down in 7th, five points short of the coveted top three. Form needs to improve if Petri Vuorinen’s men are to finish in the desired position.

Kemi are anything but a team in form, though they have perhaps been a tad unlucky of late. The hosts arrive here having won just one of their last five, but they’ve not been well beaten during that time, conceding just four goals and keeping two clean sheets. They’ve shown that they can keep things tight, so defending well against a struggling visiting team may not be beyond them.

The visitors are also a team out of form, so it is something of a surprise that they’re such warm favourites away from home. They’re playing a reasonably poor Kemi side, but to say that VPS have been any more impressive of late would be a lie. On this basis, it’s easy to feel that the visitors are too short in the betting.

Scoring goals hasn’t exactly been a speciality of the visitors when playing away from home. Vuorinen’s men have failed to score in three of their last five on the road, while they’ve kept a clean sheet in just one of those five. Unless they massively improve on this occasion, VPS could find themselves struggling to overcome a home team who’ve conceded just one goal in their last five at home.

In their most recent home match, Saturday’s hosts were far from disgraced when losing by just a single goal against a more than useful Rovaniemi side, who’re currently second in the table. After competing well on that occasion, the hosts are fancied to do better against a VPS team who’re neither as strong offensively or as good at the back.

All in all, as poor as their league position is, it’s hard to look past the hosts at the prices. The visitors have simply not done enough of late to merit such a short-price, while the hosts have been performing a tad better than the bare figures suggest. Backing Kemi to continue keeping things tight at home before profiting against a dodgy VPS back-line is the way to go.
