      Valladolid vs Rayo Vallecano Predictions

This Saturday’s early game in Spain’s La Liga sees Real Valladolid and Rayo Vallecano clash in a battle between two sides who are in their first season back at this level. It has been going better for Valladolid than Vallecano so far but both sides still have plenty of work to do in order to maintain their top flight status for another term.

Right now, Rayo Vallecano look more likely to be on their way towards a quick return to the Segunda. They remain 19th with just 3 wins so far this season although one of those did come last time out against Levante. That was a much needed success but there have been too few positive days this season and while club legend Michel retains the support of the fans, there may come a time when the board decides to take matters into their own hands if results don’t pick up on a more consistent basis.

Sergio Gonzalez meanwhile is very much safe in the Valladolid hotseat for now. They have been easily the most impressive of the newly promoted clubs and would climb back into the top half for a few hours at least if they can emerge victorious here. They are the clear favourites to do that but their home form hasn’t been that impressive of late with Valladolid winless in 4 home league outings heading into this.

They have been a little unfortunate at times over that period. Their most recent home game, saw them lose 3-2 to Atletico Madrid with their boss believing they could have won the match. They have been competitive in all their home games this term with only one game seeing them beaten by more than a solitary goal and against struggling opponents they will fancy this.

Rayo’s away record also suggests this could go the way of the hosts. The Madrid club have lost 75% of their away league games so far this season with their only victory coming against bottom club Huesca. No side has picked up fewer away points than Rayo with their recent improvements coming at Vallecas.

The visitors have lost 5 on the spin away from home in La Liga heading into this, scoring only one goal in the process and backing Valladolid to Win could be the way to go here in a truly significant match for both clubs.
