Young Boys vs FC Sion Predictions

The hosts are out to continue their title push this weekend, as they host Sion. The champions are currently storming their way towards the championship, while the visitors are coming into this hoping to leap into the top four. Sion are just three points shy of the European spots, so could they boost their position in the table by claiming a shock victory in Saturday’s trip?

The hosts are currently 19 points clear at the top of the league, as they steam towards another title. Their dominant place in the table is shown from the goal difference of their fellow sides in the Super League. Only three of the 10 teams have a positive goal difference. Basel and Thun combined have a goal difference of +21, half of what the leaders have built up across the campaign. After just one defeat, they’ve been close to unstoppable.

Obviously there’s a huge test in store for Sion this weekend. The visitors make this trip aiming to add to Young Boys’ only defeat in the league, although the away side have lost more times on the road that they’ve won this season. They come into this clash on the back of a 3-2 loss when the pair last met here back in October. Can the visitors push the champions once again?

Young Boys are expected to win this clash, having won 14 of their last 15 home matches in the Super League. They’re drifting towards the title, which they’re set to win. This weekend sees a chance for the hosts to cement their position further, as the other sides in the top three face off. They play on Sunday, so the hosts could be 22 points clear by Saturday night. Given their excellent form, it’s hard to see them struggling here.

We’re backing the hosts to come away with the points here, especially given that they’ve averaged three goals per game at home this term. However, Sion come here having scored 21 times in their 11 away trips, with both teams scoring in 91% of their games on the road. With that in mind, we expect these two to share plenty of goals this weekend. We see the hosts winning it but conceding, so Young Boys and BTTS is our tip. On top of that, we’re backing a 3-2 home win, with 45% of Young Boys’ home matches seeing at least five goals scored.
