Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

It’s no longer the titanic clash at the top of the Premier League, but there’s still plenty of hype around the Manchester derby. Over the years we’ve seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pull off some shocks against Pep Guardiola, but will that continue with United in trouble?

Pressure is growing on Solskjaer once more, while Man City seemingly got through their rough patch with a comfortable win in Europe this week. We’ve covered the clash in our Man United vs Man City predictions, but we’ve also cast an eye over the player special markets to bring you the 100/1 tip you can see below.

Phil Foden to score

After his breakout turn in the win at Anfield earlier this year, Phil Foden has a reputation as a man for the big occasion. He’s also putting together quite the run on the road, which we’re backing to continue this weekend.

Foden has been directly involved in 14 goals in his last 16 away Premier League matches for Manchester City (11 goals, 3 assists). The City man scored at Anfield earlier this term too and we’re backing him to find the net here. He’s thriving playing as the central man in City’s front three and the absence of Raphael Varane should give Foden a little more space too.

Bruno Fernandes to make an assist

At the other end, we’ve seen Bruno Fernandes become a bit of a peripheral figure for Manchester United of late. The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has been a big factor in that, but Solskjaer’s switch in formation could help the attacking midfielder.

Fernandes is likely to start this one just off the front two, which gives him a great chance to add to his three Premier League assists so far. His expected Assists tally is slightly higher, while the Portuguese plays an impressive 3.76 key passes per game. He’s one of the leading midfielders when it comes to shot-creating actions in the Premier League and it’s easy to see why.

Fernandes has made an assist in five of his last six games for club and country, while he’s set up seven goals across his last nine matches. His new position has brought an assist in both appearances, so back the Portuguese to set up a goal here.

Gabriel Jesus 2+ shots on target

Jesus likes to drift in from the wing, which has led to Foden becoming a major goal threat for the Citizens. However, Jesus still regularly troubles the goalkeeper and it won’t be long before he goes on a scoring run if his form maintains.

Jesus has had at least two shots on target in four of his last five games for club and country. The Brazilian has attempted 12 shots across his last four starts for City and with United losing their star man at the back we can see Jesus having a couple of shots on target in this one.

Fred to be carded

Fred is another player who has seen his role change of late, with three defenders behind him, wing-backs either side of him and more onus to push forward himself forward more often. That was clear in the win at Tottenham, when Fred’s average position on the pitch matched that of Edinson Cavani.

However, pushing higher up the pitch while also trying to cover for the space behind Luke Shaw is a lot to deal with. It’s also a risk for a player who averages 1.5 fouls per Premier League game. Fred has four yellow cards to his name already this season and we think he’s a great option to be carded in this clash given the extra pressure on him in his new role.
