The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship takes place on the DP World Tour this week and on the PGA Tour there is the Sanderson Farms Championship to look forward to.

Racing Post golf expert Steve Palmer was on point with his Jordan Spieth selection last week and has picked out a winner for each tournament. This week, his selections combine for a whopping 1,214/1 double and, as always, he recommends backing this latest offering as an each-way bet.

1,214/1 Golf each-way double

Jordan Spieth did the business for FST golf followers last week, top-scoring in the Presidents Cup at 11/1, but Richie Ramsay denied the double with a French Open flop.

This week, punters have two full-field tournaments to attack – the Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour and the Sanderson Farms Championship on the PGA Tour – and a 1,214/1 each-way double is recommended.

Tyrrell Hatton can be backed at 14/1 for the Dunhill Links – a tournament where he has become an almost permanent fixture on the leaderboard.

Hatton’s DP World Tour breakthrough came by a four-shot margin in the 2016 Dunhill, then he successfully defended his title with a three-shot success.

The feisty Englishman was a total of 47 under par for those two victories, then he almost completed the hat-trick in 2018, losing by a shot. Last year, Hatton finished second again, so in four of the last five editions of the Dunhill he has ended up first or second.

Hatton was eighth in the Italian Open last time out and may be peaking in time for his favourite event.

The six-time DP World Tour champion has been drawn to play Carnoustie, the toughest of the three courses used for the Dunhill, on Thursday. The forecast is for relative calm, so Hatton will be pleased with his draw.

Hatton can be combined with 80/1 chance Robby Shelton for the Sanderson Farms.

Shelton is a four-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour who seems ready to make an impact in the higher grade.

He finished 21st in the Fortinet Championship in the PGA Tour season opener last time out and will be thrilled to tee up close to home in Mississippi this week.

The Alabama man has a strong record in events in and around his beloved home state.
