Tip Reasoning

  • Juventus are unbeaten in eight Serie A games, winning six and keeping five clean sheets during that sequence.
  • AC Milan have lost three of their last five home games in all competitions, failing to keep a clean sheet during that run.
  • Juventus have won four of their last seven games against top-eight opponents, losing just one, at home to Atalanta.

Rossoneri meet Bianconeri in mouth-watering clash

Sunday’s Serie A programme is headlined by a meeting between Italy’s two most successful clubs. AC Milan are looking to bounce back from Monday’s shock defeat to Spezia in order to reinvigorate their title hopes, while Juventus would move within four points of Milan by claiming a third league win in a row.

AC Milan’s controversial defeat to Spezia was their third reverse in their last five at San Siro in all competitions. While Stefano Pioli’s team are just two points from the Serie A summit, having played a game more than Inter, a loss to Juve would see their cushion to fifth place cut to four points. Pioli’s team continue to be without influential midfielders Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie due to the Africa Cup of Nations, while first-choice centre-backs Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori are out injured.

Juventus continue to chase the top four in Italy, having been buoyed by an eight-match unbeaten run in the league, during which they’ve won six and kept five clean sheets. The Old Lady’s away record remains strong, with Massimiliano Allegri’s men last losing on their travels on Halloween at Verona.

Juve are worth backing, but do so with caution

Most importantly, Allegri’s team have got a strong record against their more illustrious Serie A opponents this season, drawing upon their renowned big-match winning mentality to win four of their last seven games against top-eight opposition, losing just once, a home reverse to Atalanta, who were in their best form of the season at that time.

Although the absence of the Federico Chiesa could hurt Juve’s ability to create chances, the Old Lady look to be worth backing, albeit cautiously, against a Rossoneri side which has struggled to convince in the absence of a handful of important players this month.

While we’re backing Juventus on the draw no bet market as our primary tip, a 1-0 away win could prove a decent correct score prediction, with Juve possessing Italy’s fourth-best defensive record.
