A high-scoring affair expected in Amsterdam

Following a rather tumultuous period, Ajax have bounced back to form in the Eredivisie under Johnny Heitinga. The Amsterdammers are playing at a much higher standard since Alfred Schreuder’s sacking, a statement backed up by their incredible nine goal haul across the previous two rounds.

RKC Waalwijk provide the opposition, but if recent H2Hs are anything to go by, they’re in for a rough ride. The hosts averaged four scored goals per game across the last three H2Hs and with a gap to cut on the league leaders, they’ll wanting to be quick out of the traps yet again here.

The visitors are enjoying the strongest start they’ve ever made at this point of an Eredivisie season, yet they’re still some way off crashing the European play-off party. Their solid form is likely to hit a roadblock at this particular point though, with their last victory away to Ajax coming way back in 1999.
