Goals should be guaranteed

Group B1 in this season’s Nations League has arguably been the most evenly matched across the competition, with just three points separating leaders the Czech Republic from bottom team Ukraine heading into the final two rounds of action.

Albania are third in the group, a point behind the Czechs, and the close proximity of the two sides in the standings makes picking a winner on Saturday difficult, but goals should be guaranteed at both ends.

Albania have only kept two clean-sheets in their 11 matches across 2024, while the Czechs have scored in 14 consecutive games – a run that dates back 13 months – but like their hosts they struggle defensively, recording just one shut-out this calendar year.

Czechs may edge to important win

The Czech Republic’s one clean-sheet in 2024 did come in last month’s home win over Albania, but given their last away shut-out came in June 2023 in the Faroe Islands, they are unlikely to keep their hosts at bay this time around.

Over 2.5 goals has also been a winning bet in nine of the Czech’s last 12 games – home or away – and goals at both ends appears likely on Saturday.

Picking a winner is difficult, but given the Czechs won the reverse fixture, they may be able to edge this one and a 2-1 correct score appeals, as three of the visitors’ six wins in 2024 have been by that scoreline.
