      Arsenal vs Sunderland Predictions

After waiting nearly ten years for a trophy to arrive at the Emirates two have come along in two years for Arsenal.

They beat Hull City in 2014 to claim their first FA Cup since 2005, and followed this up by retaining to trophy last season with a 4-0 thrashing over Aston Villa in the final. Should they successfully defend the trophy this season they would become the first side since the 1800s to win the FA Cup three years in a row.

They’re not in bad form coming into the start of their FA Cup campaign either. They have won six of their last seven games in all competitions, with only a shocking 4-0 loss at Southampton marring their record.

This form has seen them take the helm at the top of the Premier League, and should they avoid a typical Arsenal collapse this could be a very good season for them.

It’s not looking quite so good for Sunderland. They find themselves already battling against relegation. They sit in 19th position with four points separating them from safety.

Their 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Aston Villa was a welcome break from the misery of losing. They have now won one of their last six matches and have lost all of the other five.

Away from home it gets even worse for Sam Allardyce’s men. They have only won once on the road all season and have lost eight of their ten away days.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have won five on the trot at the Emirates and have only lost one of their last ten, winning eight.

Arsenal are the country’s FA Cup specialists at the moment, and with their good form I think they’ll have a comfortable time against Sunderland. Four of their last six victories have been by more than one goal, and their last match against Sunderland ended 3-1. Sunderland, on the other hand, have been on the end of convincing defeats in three of their last five losses.

This makes odds of 1.850 for an Arsenal -1.5 Asian Handicap Win look very good value, and I’m also going for another 3-1 win for the Gunners at 10/1.
