Astana vs Atletico Madrid Betting Tips

The sides met just two weeks ago at the Vicente Calderon and it was a very one-sided affair with Atleti running out comfortable winners with youngsters Saul and Oliver Torres on the scoresheet along with new signing Jackson Martinez.

It will obviously be a bit tougher away from home in unfamiliar surroundings but it is hard to see the difference in class not ultimately being evident again. Astana have 1 point from their opening 3 games, which came in their only home match so far, a 2-2 draw with Galatasaray.

Realistically they have no hope of qualifying but 3rd place and Europa League football in 2016 is not completely beyond them and would still represent an excellent achievement. Having been on the end of such a battering in Madrid, they are likely to be fairly cautious here and will try and keep things tight for as long as possible.

They’ve won all their league matches since then including a crucial 1-0 victory at Kairat that sent them back to the top of the Kazakh League which concludes this weekend. Astana need to beat 3rd place Aktobe at home to clinch the title and in doing so seal a place in the Champions League qualifiers next term so that is certainly their biggest game of the week.

Of course they will be going all out to try and cause an upset in this game but it will be tough against an Atletico side that has won 7 of their 13 matches so far this season to nil. At 17/20 they certainly look good value to do likewise again and it would put them on the brink of qualification from what isn’t a terribly difficult group.

It is unlikely to be as big as 4-0 this time but a solid 2-0 win is something that Diego Simeone’s men regularly rack up and they are available at 5/1 to win this game by that margin here.
