Corinthians shaky on the road

Corinthians are fresh off a victory at a Santos side who are struggling for form, but overall the visitors have a poor record behind them on the road this term. Before that victory, the visitors had gone nine games without a win on their travels, losing eight.

The away side have failed to score in six of their last seven away trips, while they’ve had a mixed fixture list to date. Corinthians have already lost away to two of the current bottom four in Brazil’s top flight.

The hosts have failed to win their last two, although both of those clashes came on the road. Athletico Paranaense have won eight of their last nine at home, including four wins in five from their league campaign.

The home side have won consecutive games to nil at their own ground, coming away with a 1-0 victory in each. They are favoured to see off a low-scoring Corinthians outfit, but at a shade above evens Athletico are good value to take the points.

Considering Corinthians’ issues in front of goal on their travels this could well be a third-straight 1-0 home win for the hosts.
