Bergerac vs Lille Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Bergerac are enjoying a special season at the moment, not least because of their run in the Coupe de France. In all fairness they have been afforded some rather favourable draws in the competition so far, with the toughest team they have faced being Ligue 2 side Lens in the last round.

Considering they ply their trade in the CFA Division Group A, the fourth tier of the French league, this is still a very impressive run from them. Now they face their biggest challenge of the competition when they welcome top flight opposition to their stadium.

Bergerac’s league campaign has been going pretty well so far this season as well, but recently the wheels have started to wobble a bit. They have won two, drawn one, and lost three of their last six games in all competitions. This leaves them 2nd in the table behind Rennes II, but there is just a point in it at the moment and a promotion at the end of the season is still on the cards if they can return to winning ways.

Lille have also hit a few stumbling blocks lately, and their 3-2 defeat at home to Bordeaux on Saturday made it four defeats from their last five games. This leaves them 15th in Ligue 1, so the threat of relegation is still hanging over their heads at the moment.

In the Coupe de France they have knocked out Excelsior and Nantes on their way to this stage, and whilst both of those have been home fixtures they will feel rightly confident about their chances on Thursday.

Defensively Lille simply haven’t been up to it this season. They have conceded in 11 of their 15 trips away this season, and considering their opponents will be gunning for a goal and have scored in 11 of their 13 home matches this season, I can see Bergerac finding the net. I highly doubt they can keep Lille at bay though, so I’m backing Both Teams to Score at 4/5, alongside a 3-1 win for Lille at 11/1 for my correct score predictions
